About Archna Sahni

Since I was a child I have felt like an old soul in a child’s body – even as a seven year old,  I had a strong sense of justice,  was highly self-aware, and had an empathetic nature. During the time my family lived in Kuala Lumpur I had a wonderful class teacher from Grade 3 to Grade 4, who instilled in me a love for reading.  More significantly, during these formative years I experienced a rapid broadening of my horizons and expansion of consciousness by being exposed to an astonishing diversity of nationalities, cultures, ethnicities, races, languages, and cultural practices.  My class had 22 children from 20 different countries, and under the guidance of our wonderful teacher we were lead to create a harmonious environment based on a healthy curiosity about our cultural differences and respect for them.   

I have known in my bones since my childhood that a better world is possible here and now. It begins with how we treat others. It also depends on how well we understand ourselves. 

I chose teaching as a profession as I wanted to share my love for literature and my vision of a better world with learners.  We all have a stake in the future, and playing the role of a teacher has been my way of contributing to the future.  Until I discovered coaching. Moving from one helping profession to another, from teaching to coaching, was a natural transition for me.   I came upon coaching when I was seeking to transition into a vocation which would allow me to use all of what I am – my knowledge, life experiences, my values, my vision – to help others find purpose and meaning in life.  Coaching offers me the freedom and breadth of scope to be my fullest self, and in doing so, touch the lives of others fully.
